Role purpose
You will teach English and Social Studies in the lower section. You will build strong literacy, speaking, reading, writing, and early social skills.

Key duties

1. Plan lessons, term work, and class targets for English and SST.
2. Teach reading, phonics, spelling, grammar, writing, and comprehension.
3. Teach SST through stories, pictures, local examples, and guided activities.
4. Set and mark work on time. Give clear feedback to learners.
5. Build a strong reading culture through daily reading routines.
6. Keep learner records, books, and assessment files updated.
7. Support learners who struggle with reading and writing through remedial sessions.
8. Guide learners on discipline, values, and social skills in class routines.
9. Work with parents on reading practice and learner growth plans.

Minimum requirements

1. Grade III Teachers Certificate or Diploma in Primary Education.
2. Teaching experience in lower primary is preferred.
3. Strong command of English and proven literacy teaching skills.
4. Ability to prepare neat records and manage class routines well.
5. Good spoken and written English.
6. Willingness to undergo reference checks.

Added advantage

1. Training or experience in phonics and early literacy programs.
2. Drama, music, debate, or reading club experience.
3. ICT skills for lesson preparation and records.
